Dawson City

With the Klondike gold rush of 1896, Dawson City, Yukon was born and soon became a modern city, with nearly 40,000 souls by 1898.  As the symbolic character and adventure of those times, Dawson City retains the spirit and rich history of its past, and is a definite "must see" for visitors to the Yukon.

Located at the confluence of the Yukon and Klondike Rivers, this is also the traditional territory of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in indigenous people, who have fished salmon in these rivers for many centuries.
