Mayo

Located in the central part of the Yukon Territory, The Village of Mayo is the traditional territory of the Na Cho Nyak Dun People. The highway serving Mayo is often marked on tourist maps as "The Silver Trail", as it connects the communities of Stewart Crossing, Mayo, Keno City, and the mining town of Elsa.

Mayo provides many traveler services, such as two motels, eating establishments and grocery store, post office, liquor store, propane and gas, swimming pool, nursing station, RCMP, airport, and float-plane services.

Be sure to visit the Binet House Interpretive Centre at the Village of Mayo, which displays a collection of historic photos and an extensive geology display, including sections on permafrost, bedrock geology, rock deformation, glacial history, hard rock and placer mining.

Also home to MountJoy Wilderness Adventures, you can enjoy excursions on land, snow and water in every season with professional back country tours.
